Manzanita Coalition is an independent, loose community organization comprised of faith, labor, and neighborhood institutions who are in a relationship together to improve the lives of workers and their families in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The mutual aid or essential workers who form the backbone of our regional economy often struggle with disconnected goods and services. Recognizing that these workers are the experts in their own lives, the Manzanita Coalition is dedicated to deepening relationships between neighbors to better understand shared concerns and give working families a stronger voice
in crafting solutions to these challenges.
Founded on February 8th, 2020 in a classroom at Mountain View High School by leaders from five institutions, the Coalition has a collaborative relationship with Manzanita Works which acts as its program incubator for the group’s ideas
and is the Coalition’s convener and facilitator.
Together, we can improve how we value workers while planning for the needs of the workforce of tomorrow.
